Assessing individual features in the context of the whole face.

A CONVERSATION COMES FIRST
Ear surgery and chin surgery serve different purposes. Ear assessment may concern shape or prominence, while chin assessment considers projection in relation to other features. Each concern is evaluated individually, without assuming both procedures are needed.
Your goals and individual assessment guide the plan.
A CLOSER ASSESSMENT
A specific goal helps guide the assessment of each feature.
Explain whether the concern is prominence, the shape of one part or a difference between the ears. For a child, their wishes and ability to cooperate with aftercare matter alongside cartilage development.
Assessing chin projection differs from assessing the bite and chewing. A bite problem may need a different pathway from changing chin projection for appearance alone.
